Unit 5 Inventory Task The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim(Xbox360 version)

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim(Xbox360 version)
Skyrim has a Inventory which is menu based and lists items in alphabetical order. The Inventory is also Weight based and so users must be aware of how many items they are carrying as it affects the characters motion and speed during game. The inventory when accessed, pauses the gameplay and allows players to work in the inventory before going back to gameplay.
The user interacts with the inventory by pressing the "B" Button on the the xbox360 controller. It then brings up a menu which players are able to interact. This is quite a simple way of accessing it which helps with gameplay.

The Skyrims Inventory the player basically controls all most everything for its character. When opening the inventory the user is able to choose what him or her would like to do. Such as manage weapons and armor and what there character should wear. Also what spells they can use and what items they may need. For example food and potions are quite crucial to survive.

The inventory suits the gameplay quite well as it allows the player to not have to worry about the gameplay and gives them time to think about what they may need.

I personally am not a big fan of the inventory. Simply because it allows the player to pause during battle and access items in which helps them to overcome an enemy. In other words it in a way defeats the idea of battle and makes the game easy to complete. also many players may use it to heal when they are about to die, again defeat the idea of battle and allowing players to not die in the game.
Skyrims menu and list based inventory may influence my design as it is easily accessible and simple to find items as it is alphabetically placed.
